The Yidindji Chamber of Commerce was greatly honored and humbled yesterday to receive an Outstanding Excellence Award from the Royal House of King Billy Possum. We were touched by this unexpected kind gesture. Thank you to the Chamber's Senior Liason Officer, Ooray Yidindji, who traveled all the way to deliver this to our team.

Well done to Saoirse Quinlee for her tireless dedication and impeccable delivery of results! Also well done to Yindi Edgved for the brilliant energy she brings to everything as she creates community everywhere. Thank you to all our businesses and members. The award is so well deserved!! Thank you finally to Minister Viko Sun for his excellent leadership and constant solution focused outlook. We are so proud of you all

3rd Anniversary Dinner

Yidindji Convention 2025

The YCC was blessed to be able to facilitate and sponsor the Yidindji Convention for 2025 under the guidance and initiative of Chief Minister Bumi Gimuybara.

For the YCC it was an important occasion marking an official request for the involvement and assistance of the Original Yidindji People. The occasion was in effect a calling out to the Yidindji Cantons (eight Self-Governing Councils within the Yidindji Territory) humbly asking for their help to kick-start wide-spread trade and commerce in Sovereign Yidindji Dollars accross the Nation.

The Sovereign Yidindji Government is often depicted as a Noah's Ark of a kind, welcoming all to come onboard as a vessel of refuge, not only for today, but for the times ahead. A unique and unifying force, the SYG is perfectly positioned to remain a source of support for all the Cantons, as well as a bastion for the positive Self-Determination of the Yidindji people's future.

We remain deeply grateful for all those who came along. Through their attendance they demonstrated their support and commitment to a bright future. We look forward to working with you!

As Ooray Yidindji, the YCC's new Liason Officer stated "I would like all our Yidindji Bamas to remember the main points which I addressed today and the reason I have spoken about them: The Call for Support, Unity and Solidarity, Using the Government as a Unifying Force and lastly Our Commitment to Those Ready to Join us."

"In summary, the Yidindji Convention 2025 calls for active support from the Yidindji Nation to strengthen unity and national cohesion. National cohesion refers to the bonds that unite a country's citizens, fostering a sense of belonging, shared identity and mutual support amongst diverse groups."

Brainstorming with the UK Ambassador for Yidindji

The recent visit to Yidindji Territory on the part of His Excellency Guludu Stoneycroft and his partner Kay Klug, was a golden opportunity to consider the Government's stance on International Business relations and the YCC's openness to foreign involvement with its work.

Before dinner one evening Guludu had the foresight to guide the YCC Team through a process examining how we can best connect the Chamber to well-wishers and Yidindji friends overseas. This of course has by necessity to include plans for a range of regular webinars and newsletters to be made available freely to an International Audience as a primary means to connect.

The Ambassador made us aware that there are many within his own extensive network, as well as countless others all over the world, who would be greatly inspired to learn about the Yidindji Way and its promise for a solution to the multi-faceted crises which humanity is currently facing.

The outcome of the meeting, thanks to the assistance given us by Guludu and Kay, is that the Chamber has created a number of new pathways for non-citizens to become involved. They include the facilitation of YCC Global Educational Webinars, Invitations for Business Sponsorship and Immersive Guided Trips on Yidindji Territory.

The above pathways are currently available on the YCC Website and the Team is looking forward to developing them further as we open our doors to International Connections.

UK Visit with Yidindji Ambassador

Our recent trip to England and Wales yielded the opportunity to meet with Guludu Stonecraft, the Yidindji Ambassador for the UK. We were very happy to finally meet him in person, together with his partner Kim.

While we have had plenty of online meetings with Guludu who has kindly introduced us to a variety of fascinating guests including famous economists, doctors in psychology and even Paul McCartney's sister, nothing could compare with meeting Guludu in person. We got to experience his genuine passion for the well-being and positive future of humanity.

We spoke about many things including the future of the Yidindji Nation. We were most impressed with the fact that Guludu has dedicated his life to finding pathways to bring communities together. As father of the crowdfunding movement, his dream is to bring back power to the local communities allowing them to fund brilliant projects which may be denied funding by banks and other corporate structures.

Guludu enlightened us on the current economy from his perspective and the way it has been hijacked to promote a discordant profit structure which denies the basic tenets of positive human nature. His work with Humane Economics is a reflection of his many years of research on this topic.

While we were only able to spend a brief time in Guludu and Kim's company, we are delighted to be seeing them again in August for the coming Foreign Affairs Forum. They will be flying over especially for this important event and we look forward to furthering our plans and conversation.

Meeting with Founder's Daughter

The Chamber of Commerce has been so pleased to connect with Ooray Yidindji. Having met her once previously during Metamui’s visit to Gimuy, we learned via her feedback after the event and also via email correspondence that she loved the work that the Chamber was doing. We understood that Ooray’s father had been instrumental in the process of founding the Yidindji Government and we let her know that we would love to stay in touch.

It is true that since the Chamber’s launch two and a half years ago, few of our members have been of Yidindji bloodline. Most of us have been adopted into this ancient tribe thanks to the generosity of the Yidindji bloodline elders, namely Uncle Bumi, and up until he left us last year, Chief Minister Gudju Gudju. Perhaps this is why, having an actual Yidindji descendant join us for one of our gatherings and share so eloquently and thoughtfully with us, had the effect that it did.

On a personal note, during the event held at Koah Hall, Ooray shared with us deeply moving video footage of her late father, Chulka Burra Jinawadagon Goon-Jarrah-By (Chief Tribal Warrior) aka Lloyd Cornillious Stewart, who together with other clan elders was a key signatory to the formation of the Yidindji Government. We subsequently participated, with a number of members, in a short spontaneous ceremony, arranged by Uncle Bumi, to honour Ooray’s recently deceased Mother. Touched by the openness with which our guest shared precious memories with us, and the clear respect and love she holds for her parents, we were eager to consider the seven-year Strategic Development Plan which Ooray presented.

The plan for the development of business infrastructure within the Yidindji Nation, calls for the cooperation of the varying clan groups. Working together they will establish traditional owner contracts for employment of Yidindji Citizens, fund Yidindji Rangers within each tribal territory and also develop tourist attractions in special areas. These endeavours will bring in revenue for the SYG and for each tribe, with no clan to be excluded (the recording and full plan are available for YCC members to view by clicking here).

Personally, as President of the YCC, I came away touched by the new relationship we forged. Ooray’s wish to visit the elders of every tribal group to share the vision of a flourishing Sovereign Yidindji economy and create a plan to work together is a step which we as the Chamber of Commerce would love to see fulfilled.

Time will tell whether the Yidindji Chamber of Commerce can become a unifying umbrella for trade amongst all Yidindji people (both adopted and bloodline) and whether the Sovereign Yidindji Dollar can fulfil its destiny as a coin valued and utilized across all eight tribal territories comprising the Yidindji Nation.

As AG Gaan-Yarra explained in crystal-clear terms, it is the currency with which we transact which dictates the legal framework within which a business operates. If we use the Sovereign Yidindji Dollar to trade with our neighbours, to interact with tourists, to share our products and services, then our business falls under the law of the Yidindji people. Transactions also remain tax-free. Should we use Australian Dollars to carry out trade, our dealings will come under Australian law with its specific regulations and rules. And of course be taxed accordingly. We wish to thank Ooray and her partner for taking the time to come and meet with our members, and for being the awaited catalyst for the YCC to take business to the next level.

MetaMUI Sovereign Wallet visit the Yidindji Nation

It was a breathtakingly productive week with the MetaMUI Founders and their team visiting us from South Korea. The Yidindji Chamber of Commerce was not sure what to expect, but we were left with our dreams of a vibrant Yidindji Economy coming to bloom.

Phantom and his partner Frannie have gone all out to ensure the Sovereign Yidindji Dollar empowers the Yidindji Nation to fulfill its true potential. Developments in the pipe-line include:

Ability to access a 'market-place' where Tribal Nations can trade cross-border
Making SYD conversion into other currencies a possibility in 2025
Transitioning the MetaMUI Sovereign Wallet into an 'all-in-one' instrument which the YCC can test and utilize prior to sharing with the entire Yidindji citizenship

The whole YCC team was really blown away by how generously Phantom and Frannie gave of their time, resources and expertise. After spending Monday shooting at a total of 5 locations to capture Sovereign Yidindji Dollar transactions on camera, we were able to share the story of the Chamber in a presentation on Tuesday. Phantom subsequently ran us through the exciting developments coming through MetaMUI which will benefit all our members.

We had many things in common, one of the primary ones being our dream of having Y.C.C. members be in direct control of their finances thus cutting out the need for banks and intermediary completely.

We are happy to report the Yidindji Wallet App is now running more smoothly than ever. The MetaMUI team took all our criticisms on board to ensure our members and Yidindij Citizens have a seamless experience while transacting in Yidindji Dollars.

It was wonderful to have Ministers from other Tribal Nations join us and take concrete steps to implementing Sovereign Wallets in their respective nations.

Finally, we were delighted to attend a farewell dinner on Thursday night although we felt sad to be parting ways. We remain ever grateful for this meeting and are excited about our future collaboration! Great things become possible when everything aligns!

National Day 2025

A heart-warming and exilarating start to a special year, the Yidindji Nation's National day surprised many of us with how smoothly it developed, and the harmony with which everything fell into place.

Special thanks go to the elders on whose shoulders we stand as we forge the way ahead. A big thank you also to the Yidindji National Day Organisers and generous citizens who gave of their time and dedication. Yindji Egdved did a phenomenal job in coordinating the day. We are blessed to have her.

Passing of Beloved Chief Minister Gudju-Gudju Gimuybara

The YCC is immensely sad to announce the passing of our beloved Chief Minister, Gudju-Gudju Gimuybara. From our understanding the Chief Minister had been unwell for some time but it was unexpected for him to leave us so soon (3rd of September 2024).

We are broken-hearted to loose a leader of such callibre. The Yidindji Chamber of Commerce has depended upon his blessing and guidance since its inception and it is going to be a challenge for the Yidindi Nation to move forward without him. Gudju-Gudju's leadership within the Yidindji Nation was only one of many roles he shouldered as he worked for the upliftment ofhis people. Below is the Chief Minister bestowing his blessing on the Chamber at its launch in October 2022.

The Chief Minister was ever-present at many Yidindji events and when asked, never failed to do what he could to support us.

Just a few months ago, together with his partner (Abriculture Minister Yarum Gimuybara), Gudju-Gudju presented at a YCC event showcasing their work as directors of NRG Alliance. The audience was moved by the incredible difference they make to rural Indigenous Communities though harnessing the best of sustainable modern technology. Members may view their presentation here.

There are so many stories which we heard Gudju-Gudju tell. Some were horrific describing the treatment of his people when he was a child. Some were truly moving and his sense of humour always shone through. We watched him play his role as a leader of his people often having to pose for photographs or smile in the company of political circles in order to do his job well and forward the interests of the tribes which depended on him. His role cannot have been easy and would have taken tremendous patience, forgiveness and fortitude.

Yesterday when asked to send messages to the Chief Minister which were being read to him to help him recover, we sent an email with our prayers for his quick recovery on behalf of the Yidindji Chamber of Commerce and its Members. We thanked him for his immense support and vision in establishing the Yidindji Government and for allowing us to contribute via the YCC.

We promised that regardless of whether he is here physically or not, we will endeavor to fulfill his legacy of unifying the nations for the benefit of future generations. We are blessed that Gudju-Gudju's spirit lives on and will be guiding and inspiring us on our way.

The YCC is broken-hearted to announce the passing of our beloved member Kirsti Tilly. With us right from the start and ever generous in her contributions to the Chamber, Kirsti was a Dear Friend as well as a valuable Chamber Member and Yidindji Citizen. The photos below are from Yidindi National Day 2023.

We were grateful to be able to remember Kirsti's loyalty and contribution at the recent IFAC Forum and share about her passion for life during our presentation. Many of us were shocked at the news of her passing. The lesson that made itself evident is that our greatest asset is our time and the importance to spend such a precious gift wisely. None of us know when our time will be up.

The YCC wishes to thank Kirsti for her great generosity, her friendship and her loyalty. We call on the highest blessings, on behalf of us all, for the next leg of her journey where she will be surrounded by all those who love her most.

Inter-Tribal Foreign Affairs Coucil Forum 2024

The YCC Team was delighted to attend the Inaugural IFAC Forum last weekend in Gimuy. Present were representatives from over a dozen Tribal Nations eager to learn more about the Yidindji Way. Speakers included specialists on currency, law, and international relations. It was an honour to host our guests and hear their stories.

We were happy to see YCC Members amongst the volunteers for this event. Their willingness to help out was more than rewarded by the authenticity & magic of the connections and sharing. The (non-alcoholic) cocktail evening was yet another opportunity to connect & learn. Next years Forum will be bigger as this time there was barely enough room to fit everyone into the venue.

The YCC was asked to speak for 10 minutes on a panel on the 'Future of Money'. The issues that were raised and the way everyone contributed toward answering questions and shedding light on where we are at and how best to move forward was tremendously enlightening. We thanked the Ydindji Elders for the opportunity to serve the Nation in this capacity and the Ministers for their steadfast loyalty and support.

We hope to see more of you at next years IFAC Forum. It was a landmark international occasion and is on the cards to become a yearly event.

Economic Stimulus Initiative

We are delighted to receive notice that from this month of March onward, there will be a doubling of the monthly transfer of SYD to all Yidindji Chamber of Commerce Financial Members. This transfer will happen automatically and affect all existing Members as well as all new Y.C.C. Members.

Outcome of Court Case

Thank you everyone for your understanding in the case involving the Chief Superintendent of the Yidindji Police. We deeply thank those who attended and demonstrated their support Please find a short summary of the outcome below:

The Attorney General described the court as ‘very civilized’. There was no hostility from the prosecutor or from the magistrate. The outcome was rather bizarre considering the charges by QPS. After a long session both the prosecutor & the magistrate were falling over themselves to lighten Matthew’s sentence as much as possible.

The Magistrate was very clear in stating that the Yidindji Nation is not a Sovereign Citizens Movement as claimed by QPS. However, there will be continued legal issues arising on this path until a formal Treaty is arrived at.

The Magistrate was also very clear in stating that Matthew is of good character and clearly not going to cause anyone harm. It was very positive in that he acknowledged that Matthew was standing as Bilbara (Matthew’s Yidindji identity), despite the fact that the QLD court itself is unable to see anything but QLD law.

For over a year Matthew has had the threat of jail time, massive fines and a criminal record hanging over him. Yet surprisingly he was offered a sweet deal composed of light community service with a clean record and clean slate. The court was so very nice about it that it really seemed they wanted the whole thing to go away.

We were extremely proud of Matthew’s stance. While defending himself in the hearing, he succeeded in highlighting the incredible work and achievements of the Yidindji Nation.

One disappointment was that Matthew’s Yidindji ID & Police Instruments of Government were not returned. They were put on show as evidence but not given back. The police badge, uniform etc are not Matthews to give away or to lose. They are actually the property of the Yidindji Government. The Minister of Foreign Affairs will be chasing these up from the Commonwealth of Australia and the State of Queensland.

While this case may be done and dusted for Matthew (if he takes up the Community Service order), it is important to understand that for the Nation, this is just the start. The issue of co-existing sovereignties has not been addressed and there is still a long way to go. Meanwhile, we are very grateful to Matthew for taking the stand he did. The Yidindji Nation is here & it cannot be denied. More to come…

Celebration with Binanga Yidindji & Launch of the Gimuy Healing Centre

The launch of the Chandelier Healing Centre in Gimuy was postponed in honour of local elder Aunty Rose Richards who recently passed away at Gimuy Hospital. A beloved figure who worked tirelessly for the wellbeing of those in need (particularly taking a stand for the healthcare of pregnant women and vulnerable elders in the community), Auntie Rose's death created ripples! We gathered together with Binanga Yidindji (the Cultural Chamber of the Yidindji Government) to honour her and hear from her daughter, the Health Minister Arela Djabugai.

The second part of the morning was dedicated to hearing founder Angelique Spence share with our members on the opening of Chandelier Cairns - the private healing clinic which opened its door to Yidindji Citizens among a small select trusted community. We felt blessed to have access to such an advanced facility which includes the latest in EE-System technology and colonic irrigation among a number of modalities offered by Chandelier's practitioners.

Finally Yirrilam Gimuybara, the Minister for Education closed the day with an interactive game which demonstrated the importance of making choices which benefit the entire community... specifically in the financial realm. Our members saw the importance of working together & honouring the varying needs of individuals as we move forward with setting the foundation for the Yidindji economy.

The launch of the Cultural Chamber of the Yidindji Government sets the scene for the development of the Health, Education and Arts sectors as well as the honouring of Spirit, Stories, Elders wisdom and the Yidindji Way. Just has 'health' has been sabotaged by the 'health' industry, making the healing arts something removed from common knowledge which men, women and families must pay to access, a similar situation has come about when it comes to Law. The Legal system has appropriated the world of 'law' such that the general public must pay vast amounts to access a small part of that power. The Y.C.C. wishes to thank the ACCOR Group for their kind hospitality. Our members & guests loved the beautiful venue & the genuine care provided by the staff at the Cairns Pullman Hotel! We could not have asked for more engaging speakers for the day: Citizens & Chamber Members Ngarra Charrua & Viko Sun and finally the Honourable Minister Murrumu of Wallubara.

The exploration of technologies for the harmonization of dangerous radiation, methods to take advantage rather than remain fearful of the latest trend toward digital currency and the continuing endeavor of the Yidindji Nation to guarantee the privacy & well-being of its citizens were all necessary & timely topics to cover. Thank you also to the Yidindji Elders, diplomats & Ministers who joined us for the day. We very much appreciate you all :-)

The Y.C.C. would like to thank Chief Minister Gudju Gudju & Cultural Affairs Minister Bumi Gimuybara for the wonderful talks they gave yesterday. As a collective we were deeply moved by what was shared and have come to a far more profound understanding of where we have come from and where we are going to. Now we know for sure that we are all on the same page. We are all moving in the same direction! This is truly precious. Thank you also to Darigan Lima (Minister of Home Affairs) for guiding the sessions so graciously and professionally. We look forward to working with you again. Paxton Technologies inspires the Yidindji Chamber!

Paxton Technologies was kind enough to share the latest in Innovation with the Y.C.C this March. Our presenter Homeland Security Minister for the Githabul Nation, Brad Paxton, awed our audience with stories & the details of Paxton desalination & water purification systems ~ which do much more than what meets the eye! We cannot wait to collaborate further... The day culminated with the Minister of Trade launching "Yfi" - a private communications & internet network in service to the Yidindji Nation.

We want to thank all the medical & health specialists who attended our end of year meeting. The Yidindji Chamber of Commerce was delighted to discover the full range of healthcare options which make up our health related economy. Patricia graced our meeting to impart some traditional wisdom & finish with a blessing from the traditional custodians of the land. What a fantastic way to build on our very first meeting not too long ago... the Health Minister & Chief Medical Officer will be leading us onto bigger & better things as we have quite a bit to work towards!
