A heart-warming and exilarating start to a special year, the Yidindji Nation's National day surprised many of us with how smoothly it developed, and the harmony with which everything fell into place. 

Special thanks go to the elders on whose shoulders we stand as we forge the way ahead. A big thank you also to the Yidindji National Day Organisers and generous citizens who gave of their time and dedication. Yindji Egdved did a phenomenal job in coordinating the day. We are blessed to have her.

We also thank all the guests who came from afar to join us in celebration!

Some of the most moving moments included:

• Birri Gubba Nation's gift of a spiritually charged painting (rather than dot art, highly original rock art!) from one of their Elders to Uncle Bumi (please see the painting below)
• a touching ceremony to welcome our latest citizen Cosmo of Moomin
• updates from the Ministers and our Sister Nations as to recent mile-stones and achievements
• Enchanting music courtesy of Bernard and Cosmo
• the Yidin master language session with the Cultural Minister
• the beautiful stall-holders and Yidindji Chamber of Commerce Members who blessed us via sharing their products & services
• the many children who graced us with their presence
• a symbolic trade of stall-holder products from one Nation to another ~ a promise of many more to come!
• the epic closing of the day with Bella Sun guiding each guest to take home a memorable inner experience
